You will assist in the supervision, operation and control of customers involved in the activities of the facility. To take responsibility for the smooth daily operations of the facility, contributing to the development marketing and delivery of programmes to maximise usage and income, and to achieve customer service delivery objectives

 Key Accountabilities

• To supervise activities in the Fitness Room and operate the equipment in a manner consistent with safe working practice, ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the facility
• To undertake all day to day cleaning and maintenance of the equipment and fittings, to the highest possible standards, bringing to the attention of the Centre Management any faults or major repairs
• To undertake or supervise the vending and juice bar service, to include the cleaning, refilling, taking delivery of stock, maintaining stock control, counting and banking monies
• To assist in the implementation, marketing and administration of activities and healthy lifestyles
• To maintain customer records of programme of activities and lifestyle programmes
• To assist the members of the public in their use of the facilities, encouraging maximum use
• To assist in the effective operations of the activity programme by coaching / teaching, where appropriate.
• To assist in the development of programming through innovative ideas and initiating actions to meet the demands of the customers
• Undertaking and/or assisting in devising individual fitness assessments, programmes and testing, exercise prescription, GP referrals and specialist inductions, as and when required (following appropriate training)
• To assist in the communication and promotion of the centre’s services
• To undertake duties of a Recreation Assistant as required, in supervising activities and operating equipment in the wet and dry areas of the Centre
• Support and assist the Management team in all aspects of the operation of the centre, assisting in administrative work, events, sales, special projects and research on issues related to the service as required
• To assist in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the facility, on a shift rota basis
• To establish and maintain good relationships with our customers, ensuring that an appropriate ambience is maintained in the facility making customers feel welcomed and valued, with due regard for the Equal Opportunities and Diversity Policy and Customer service standards
• To ensure that the centre is secure and maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and repair
• To ensure the safety and welfare of staff and users of the centre through the operation of all Health and Safety procedures and standards and be aware of your role in managing emergencies, accident reporting and report defects as necessary
• Assist customers with regard to lost property, first aid, use of equipment and provide general information regarding the centre.  Deal with complaints in a sensitive manner.

Knowledge & Specific Requirements

• Experience of customer service
• REPS level 2 and Gym Instructor level 2 qualified
• Excellent oral, numerical and written skills
• Required to work outside normal hours, including evenings, weekends, public holidays with flexibility of location
• Responsible for maintaining requite qualifications
• Responsible for attending internal training sessions as part of normal working arrange
