Camberwell Leisure Centre proudly opened its new and extended gym a week before its 119th birthday on 1 October 2011. This beautifully restored Grade II listed building reopened in February 2011 with a refurbished 25 metre pool and learner pool, reconfigured male, female and family changing rooms, new café and reception.

Dulwich Leisure Centre has served the local community since 25 June 1892. Exactly 119 years later to the day, the new 100 station gym was reopened completing the £6.2 million refurbishment programme which stunningly restored some of the building’s Victorian features to their former glory.

In addition to the new gym (a third larger than before) the dry-changing rooms have been relocated and rebuilt, following on from the two new studios, a refurbished 25 metre pool, wet-changing rooms, new reception, café and crèche which opened in September 2010.

Surrey Docks Watersports Centre provides the local community with a state-of-the-art gym and exercise studios overlooking Greenland Dock as well as a year-round extensive watersports programme.

In addition to the new gym, the centre offers a wide range of over 100 fitness classes each week including Zumba®, Body Pump, Pilates, yoga, karate, funky aerobics and indoor cycle. We also have fitness sessions dedicated to age groups, children from five years, teen gym ‘fit-2-go’ for 14 and 15 years, and Silver Active from 60 years.

Our unique location is ideal for novices to learn how to sail and through our RYA courses existing sailors can improve their skills.  In addition we also teach adults and children, from the age of eight years, how to kayak, canoe, windsurf and powerboat (from 12 years). When you come along to the centre be sure to pick up our new 2012 watersports programme.

We look forward to welcoming our local businesses to our centres.
