Camberwell Leisure Centre Renovation

Camberwell Leisure Centre

Following the good news about Camberwell Leisure Centre’s renovation programme in May, I am pleased to inform you about the latest progress.

The swimming pool closed on Monday August 17 2009 and is expected to re-open in June 2010. I apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and I hope you understand that it is necessary to get the job done properly and on schedule.

All other areas of the facility are currently closed.

Those of you who have membership for use of the pool can use your card at any of Southwark Council’s other leisure centres.

The exciting new plans for the refurbishment are now on display at the centre.

Frequently Asked Questions, about this ‘Investing in Leisure’ project, are now available on the Southwark web site and additional paper copies are at the centre and library. If your question is not answered there, please use the online form or the address overleaf and we will respond to you directly.

Should you wish to be kept informed directly of the refurbishment developments at Camberwell Leisure Centre please use the online registration form
Or write to Southwark Council, Investing in Leisure Programme, 3rd Floor 160 Tooley Street, London SE1 2TZ.

The £12.3m that Southwark Council is currently investing in its leisure facilities will secure the future of two historic Victorian Baths, bring Southwark’s only athletics track back into use and create a modern sailing facility at Surrey Docks Watersports Centre at Greenland Dock. These will give residents access to a wide range of sports and other activities to keep fit, be healthy and have fun.

Yours sincerely

Councillor Lewis Robinson
Leader of the Conservative Group
Executive Member for Culture, Leisure & Sports
