Reduce your calories and exercise more say the Government
The Government has released its latest obesity strategy by encouraging people to eat less and exercise more. The Health Secretary, Andrew Lansley, makes it clear that whilst the Government and business organisations have a role to play, individuals must also take responsibility to ensure they live healthily to avoid obesity related diseases, such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease and cancer. England's Chief Medical Officer, Professor Sally Davies, says “most of us are eating or drinking more than we need to and are not active enough. Being overweight or obese is a direct consequence of eating more calories than we need. Increasing physical activity is a part of the equation, but reducing the amount of calories we consume is key."
So to support your drive to become healthier, why don't you pop down to Fusion Heath Club and join in one of the many exciting activities we have to offer?
