Hockey
Hockey is a sport in which two teams play against each other by trying to get a ball, or hard, round, plastic disc (called a puck) into the opponent’s net or goal, with a stick.
It’s really popular and is great for endurance, muscle strength and hand-eye coordination.
Hockey develops essential social skills such as team work, communication and individual efforts. It's an energetic way to improve your health and fitness.
Hockey clubs are very sociable and are happy to welcome new players who would like to give the sport a go. Ask the hockey coach for teams in the local area.
The hockey season in the UK lasts from September until May each year.
A number of hockey clubs use Leatherhead Leisure Centre on a regular basis for training and matches.
