Free Swimming for 16 years and under

Whether you're a seasoned swimmer, want a bit of practice or you're a complete beginner, there's never been a better time to dive in. Public swimming sessions across the boroughs' Leisure Centres are free for anyone 16 years old and under. Swimming improves health and fitness levels, tones muscles, burns calories, stimulates circulation, soothes the mind and improves stamina.

1. How do I get to Swim for Free?
Your parent/guardian will be required to complete the application form, present proof of your eligibility and accompany you to the centre in order to register; where you will need to pay a £2 administration fee for your membership card.

2. Will I need to show proof of age on every visit?
You will only need to show your membership card on each visit.

3. What if I lose my membership card?
All replacement cards are subject to a £2 fee.

4. Is Free Swimming available in every session?
Only public and general swimming sessions that fall outside school hours are free for use.

5. I have a Swim Only Membership and I qualify for Free Swimming – what should I do?
Your Swim Membership gives you more flexibility with our daily swimming sessions, speak to a customer advisor about your best option.

6. What are the benefits of swimming?
Swimming improves health and fitness levels, tones muscles, burns calories, stimulates circulation, soothes the mind and improves stamina.

Free swimming is a government funded programme available until March 2011.
