Sports centre customers 'most satisfied'
Customers at Putlands Sports and Leisure Centre in Paddock Wood have voted the centre as one of the top six sports centres of its type in the country.
The Sport England National Benchmarking Service, undertaken in January 2008, included surveys of 223 users conducted by researchers from Ipsos-MORI. Results were then compared nationally with other centres of the same size and with the same range of facilities and Putlands was one of the best for Customer Satisfaction.
In addition to this excellent recognition Putlands also scored highly on a number of other performance indicators, coming in the top quartile nationally for categories such as visits by disabled people under 60 years of age, visits by 11-19 year olds, energy efficiency and financial performance.
The National Benchmarking Service was commissioned by Tunbridge Wells Borough Council in partnership with centre operator Fusion-Lifestyle who has managed the Council’s three sports centres since October 2006.
Cllr James Scholes, Tunbridge Wells Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Safer and Stronger Communities, said:
‘We are delighted with this national recognition for the quality of what we provide at our sports centres which shows that our customers are happy with the facilities and the way they are managed. Our customers are crucial to our future success, especially in these difficult times, and the sports centres are so important in improving the health of the local community. Well done to the Centre Manager, Lewis Harvey, and his team for this wonderful result.’
