Group Exercise Descriptions

AeroTone - is a perfect combination of high-impact, yet easy-to-follow aerobics and total body conditioning. AeroTone is a fun and effective freestyle class.

 

Antenatal Yoga - Are you pregnant but want to keep fit? Then yoga could be what you are looking for. Advocates claim it boosts mind and body, helping to keep your pregnancy hassle-free.

 

Aqua Aerobics - An aerobic workout without traumatic impact on the joints. Results include increased muscular tone, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance. No swimming experience required.

 

Barre Concept/Total Barre - This unique workout combines the elements of Pilates, yoga, resistance training and ballet into a highly effective regime performed on the mat and at a ballet barre. The technique utilises the body's own resistance. The effect is a long, lean dancers body without being a dancer!

The low impact, total body workout lifts the butt, tones the thighs, flattens the abs and sculpts the arms, whilst protecting the joints. Small isometric contractions are performed and integrated with an interval training approach that burns fat and improves cardiovascular fitness. Posture, flexibility, stamina and core strength improve. The result is a body that is realigned, rebalanced and works harmoniously and efficiently.

 Body Attack - The sports-inspired cardio workout for building strength and stamina. This high-energy interval training class combines athletic aerobic movements with strength and stabilisation exercises.

 Body Balance - The Yoga, tai Chi and Pilates workout that builds flexibility and strength and leaves you feeling centred and calm. Controlled breathing, concentration and a carefully structured series of stretches, moves and poses to music create a holistic workout that brings the body into a state of harmony and balance.

 

Body Combat - The empowering group fitness cardio workout where you are totally unleashed. This fiercely energetic program is inspired by mixed martial arts and draws from a wide array of disciplines such as karate, boxing, taekwondo, tai chi and muay thai.

 

Body Pump - The original barbell class that will sculpt, tone and strengthen your entire body, fast! Focusing on low weight loads and high repetition movements, you'll burn fat, gain strength and quickly produce lean body muscle conditioning.

 

Boot Camp - Push yourself further with this total body workout which mixes traditional drills and body weight exercises with interval and strength training. A great fat burner!

 

Boxercise - Challenge yourself with this high energy workout based on boxing techniques. Helps improve fitness, co-ordination, skill and timing, using gloves, focus pads and boxing / kickboxing styles.

 Fight Klub - This is a high intensity fun workout that makes getting in shape an addiction. Set to music, the program is a combination of boxing, kick boxing and dance. The workout is built around a freestanding professional grade punch bag using simple combinations of kicks and punches whilst keeping time with the high energy beat.

 

Fitness Pilates - Using the body toning techniques of Pilates, improve fitness with low repetition and low impact stretching and conditioning.

 

Functional Fitness - Functional Fitness is an exciting new way to train your whole body and get the results you want - FAST! It's small group training with a difference. Functional Fitness sessions are use the principles of high intensity interval training and functional movement patterns to improve cardio fitness, strength, joint mobility and stability. It's a challenging but fun class concentrating on control and technique using a fun mixture of equipment and body weight to condition your whole body using pushing, pulling, bending and twisting.

 

GRIT Cardio - A high-impact cardio workout, designed to burn fat and rapidly improve athletic capability. This explosive training session combines high impact body weight exercises and uses no equipment. It provides the challenge and intensity you need to take your training up a notch and really get results.

 

GRIT Plyo - An intense plyometric-based workout that gets results fast! Combining the principles of plyometrics and power agility training, this 30 minute high intensity interval training workout will build a powerful, agile and athletic body.

 

GRIT Strength - Using weight plates and a bench, GRIT Strength is an intense 30-minute team training session that will blast all major muscle groups and take your training to the next level.

 

Hatha Yoga - Create balance in your body and mind by focusing on strength, flexibility and breathing. Suitable for all levels and ages, providing yoga posture exercises with periods of stillness and relaxation.

 

Indoor Cycling - A great way to develop lower body tone and burn plenty of calories using pedal power.

  

LBT (Legs, Bums & Tums) - An aerobic focused class designed to tone the lower body. A mix of high/low impact moves combined with floor work for muscle toning.

 

Mum & Baby Yoga - A great way to help with back pain, stiffness and other aches. Tone tummy muscles, boost energy and fight exhaustion, while bonding with your baby through gentle exercises. Suitable from 7 weeks after normal delivery and 10 weeks after c-section. Relaxed atmosphere, no previous experience required.

 Nordic Walking - Nordic Walking is an enhancement of ordinary walking - it makes something we learn to do as babies, twice as effective! Nordic Walking uses poles in order to add two major benefits to walking. The use of poles means the upper body muscles are used as well as the legs. The poles help to propel the walker along - this means he/she works harder than usual yet the support given by the poles makes it feel easier!

 

Pilates - A body conditioning class offering toning techniques that target the deep muscles supporting the spine and major joints.

 

Popstar Tots - Introducing children to dance and movement in a fun, imaginative and creative way. Dancing to all the latest pop music, Disney songs and nursery rhymes, as well as teach all the basics of ballet but in a fun and inspiring way.

 

Power Yoga - is a fitness-based vinyasa practice. It has many of the same qualities and benefits of Ashtanga yoga, including building internal heat, increased stamina, strength, and flexibility, as well as stress reduction.

 

Retrocise - This brand new class is a dance exercise class where you burn calories, have fun and learn routines to all old-skool music from the 70's 80's 90's and 00's. It doesn't matter if you're an amazing dancer or have two left feet this class is for EVERYONE. As well as building up a sweat and burning a lot of calories you also learn a simple routine that you can take away with you for those nights out on the town in the cheesey room. Anyway come give it a try and I'm sure you will have a great time.

 Running Club - Learn running techniques with the goal of running at least a 5k within 12 weeks!

 

Soca Box Fit - Soca-Box-Fit is a choreographed class with plenty of punching and kicking to addictive and energetic soca music. It's a medium-high impact, dance fitness class - a great cardio workout!

 Step & Tone - Step up to the challenge of this variation on the traditional step class. This easy to follow cardio and toning workout combines using a step with body conditioning exercises.

 

Tabata - 20-minute High Intensity Interval Training class designed to improve fitness and effectively burn calories.

 

Total Body Conditioning  (and YAH 50+) - A fun filled work out that uses aerobic movements to lift your heart rate and burn calories, using hand weights to tone and sculpt the body.

 Zumba - Are you ready to party yourself into shape? Forget the workout, just lose yourself in the music and find yourself in shape at the original dance-fitness party. Featuring exotic rhythms set to high energy Latin and international beats. Before you know it, you'll be getting fit and your energy levels will be soaring! It's easy to do, effective and totally exhilarating.

 

Zumba Gold - The easy-to-follow program that lets you move to the beat at your own speed. It's an invigorating, community-orientated dance-fitness class that feels fresh, and most of all, exhilarating! Zumba Gold classes provide modified, low-impact moves for active older adults.

 

Zumba Kids - The ultimate dance-fitness party for young Zumba fans, where they can play it loud and rock with friends to their own rules! Featuring age-appropriate music and moves that get kids moving to the beat. It's all about feeling fearless on the dance floor, reinforcing the idea that its okay to just be yourself and dance like no ones watching!
