Friday 5th January 10:15am Bus Pass walks with David

Meet: Baxter Gate No.2 Bus stop to Cossington (Kinch Bus) (LE11 1TH)

Starting off with a bus trip to Cossington, then taking the Canal tow path walk back to Loughborough 

Duration 3 hours, 6 miles, Level 2.

Tuesday 9th January 10am Ivanhoe Way section 1

Meet: At a free carpark by the library at the roundabout on High Street, Measham (DE12 7HR)

From Shackerstone via Snarestone to Measham 

Duration: 5 miles, Level 3


Wednesday 10th January 11am Rothley Library 

Walk Leader: Charnwood Action Group 

Meet: At Rothley Library (LE7 7PS)

Health walk, flat ground throughout, 

Suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. 

Duration: 2 miles, Level 1


Monday January 15th 10am Bradgate Park Walk 

Walk Leader: John Mumford

Meet: At Newtown Linford car park. (LE6 0HE)

A circuit of the park taking in the familiar landmarks of the War Memorial, Old John, Bradgate House and Little Matlock.  Some moderate ascents.

Duration:  4 miles, 1 hour 45 minutes, Level 3


Wednesday 17th January, 10.00am Staunton Harold and Calke Park

Circular walk from Staunton Harold through Calke Park.  Progression Walk

6 miles, Level 3

Meet: At Loughborough High Street, Sky Link Bus Stop to Hathern (LE11 2PY)

Starting off with a bus trip to Hathern Anchor Inn pub, then onto a canal river walk past two railways to Normanton, across the great meadow back to Loughborough. 

Duration: 3 hours, 6 miles, Level 3

Starting off with a bus trip to Wymeswold church, then taking a brook side walk to Loughborough moors.

From Measham  via Donisthorpe and Moira to Ashby de la Zouch castle 

Duration:  6 miles, Level 2

Meet: At Lady Jayne's tearoom Car Park, adjacent to Toton Lane P&R (NG9 7JA)

A Margaret special exploring the waterways.

Thursday 15th February 10:00am Sileby River Soar Walk.

Walk Leader: John Mumford 

Meet: At Sileby church, High Street (LE12 7RX) 10am. 

From Sileby we head down to Sileby mill then follow the Soar to its confluence with the River Wreake and follow that briefly before turning back across the fields towards Cossington and then across the nature reserve to Sileby.

Level 2, 4.8 miles, Duration: 2 hours.  


Tuesday 20th February 10am

A circular walk to Woodthorpe, and then back via Loughborough Moors and Barrow 

Duration: 5.5 miles, Level 2 


Friday 23rd February 10am Bus Pass walks with David

Meet: Lemyngton Street No.127 Bus stop. (LE11 1UY)

Catching the bus to Rothley, and then taking a steady Soar Valley, part Canal route walk back to Loughborough through Mountsorrel and Quorn.

A circular walk from Melton Country Park via Burton Lazars.

Description:   Walks on a variety of circular routes around the village and local footpaths.  Duration: 2.5 to 3 miles,1 hour, Level 1

A moderately hilly walk (one steep short ascent) with a wooded ridge and open fields with views towards Nottingham.

Duration: 4.25 miles, 2 hours, Level 2

A circular walk to Old John's tower and back via Woodhouse Eaves 

Duration: 6 miles, Level 2 


Friday 30th March 10am Bus Pass Walks with David

Meet: At B&Q Belton Road Loughborough (LE11 5XS)

The walk is a canal walk which takes you to Barrow Slabs to Quorn, and then you will catch the bus back to Loughborough.

A short walk around Quorn, this walk is suitable for people with wheelchairs or pushchairs.

Meet: At the Outwoods car park. (LE11 3YG)

The walk passes through The Outwoods before dropping down to the edge of Woodhouse Eaves and then climbing up to the top of Beacon Hill and returning to the Outwoods via Buck Hill.

Duration: 6miles, 2 ½  hours, Level 3 


Tuesday 24th April 10am Bus Pass Walks with David

Meet: Loughborough, Baxter Gate road, at the No.9 Bus stop (LE11 1TG)

Taking the bus to Ashby Road, Rempstone, then taking a country route to Manor Farm, East Leake on to Stanford then Meadow Lane in to Loughborough 

Duration: 6 miles, 3 hours, level 2

Taking the bus to The Bradgate Inn Cropston, and then taking a woodland walk through Swithland.

A circuit in the Wreake valley taking in Hoby, Rotherby and Brooksby before returning to Rearsby.
