The London Youth Games 2018 season kicked last Saturday 18th November 2017 with the Cross Country event at Parliament Hill, Hampstead Heath. 30 athletes represented Hounslow at the event and produced some creditable performances with 5 of the athletes finishing in the top 50 of their race.
Charlotte Buckley had the star performance of the day finishing 4th in the U17 girls race. The Thames Valley Harrier completed the course race with a time of 11.mins, 05 seconds.
Other notable performances include: Martha Wittaker (19th - u11 girls); Cicely Paisley (42nd - u11 girls); Niamh Murphy (46th - u15 girls); Aidan Aherne (36th - u15 boys); Jonathan Bartholomew (48th - u17 boys).
Overall the girls cross country team placed 23rd and the boys 25th. After 1 event Hounslow are currently 25 out of the 33 London boroughs
Jonathan Barbour, Sports Development Officer said "This is a good start to the 2018 games, I'm expecting good things this season, and we will keep working hard to keep that top 20 position."
