Stopgap Theatre Company presents...

stage

Precisely 20 years ago Stopgap staged Neil Simon's Plaza Suite with resounding success. Now we mark 2010 and our own 25th anniversary with a production of his California Suite: four plays featuring different occupants in decidedly different circumstances. The play runs at Isleworth Public Hall from 17 - 20 February 2010.

First we meet Hannah and William, estranged marital partners meeting to discuss the immediate future of their teenage daughter. Then we see how businessman Marvin explains the lady in his bed to his wife Millie, who has just flown in to accompany him to a bar mitzvah.

Next, the rooms ring with pithy world-weary banter as British film star Diana prepares to attend the Oscars ceremony with her long-suffering husband Sidney.

Finally, we are privileged to eavesdrop as best-friend couples Mort & Beth and Stu & Gert reach the climax of a 3-week vacation where seemingly everything has gone wrong, showing how a wonderful holiday can turn into your worst nightmare.

As ever, Neil Simon's deft characterisations and nifty one-liners raise smiles of recognition along with the laughs - and there are plenty of those!

So, if you want to escape what life has been throwing at you lately, spend a couple of hours as a fly on the wall of our California Suite... with drinks and eats from the licensed bar... and relax!

Tickets are priced at £8.00. Please email stopgaptheatre@aol.com or call 020 8995 9725 for details.
