Saturday saw two Hounslow teams participating in the Balfour Beatty London Youth Games. Robyn Birch was at Crystal Palace in the diving and the Badminton Team travelled to Sobell Sports Centre.

Robyn of Longford School in Feltham was the sole competitor in the diving competition for Hounslow and was team managed by her father Graham. After her four dives – inward 1 ½ somersaults, back 1 ½ somersaults, front double somersault and forward 2 ½ somersaults, Robyn collected a score of 146.80, which secured her silver medal position only 12 points behind the winner.

In action on the same day was the Badminton squad. Despite all their best efforts against Harrow, Waltham Forest and Bexley they were pipped to the post in a closely fought group. The team of Zaheer Sumar, Zaib Hilal, Alastair MacCallum, David Da Silva, Ben Hunt, Kulvinder Lal, Phillipa Shilstone, Hazzel Dunn, Sophie Morris and Kirsty Parris have been training for the past few months at Isleworth and Syon School, coached by PE teacher Prem George.
