Following repair work and complete resurfacing of its two pools, Braintree Swimming & Fitness is offering free swim and activities on Saturday 22nd and 23rd July for the inconvenience caused during the closure period.

Over the weekend, residents can dip a toe or more in both the main pool and the children´s leisure pool as part of the pirate themed weekend, but also to try canoeing, have a swim assessment, have their faces painted, watch a life guard display, win prizes, try canoe water polo  or take part in a fun pool session following the renovation.

Alex Green, Contract Manager at Fusion Lifestyle, commented: `We know that the pool closure at Braintree Swimming & Fitness inconvenienced our customers while the unavoidable work was carried out.  The pools have had a great response since they reopened and we hope that as many people as possible will be able to join us for our open weekend when we want to thank everyone for their patience and show them the great facilities.´

Councillor Peter Tattersley, Cabinet Member for Health and Communities said: "I´m pleased to say we have rescheduled the open weekend and will be offering free fun swim and activities for all the family for the inconvenience caused during the closure period.  I would like to thank all members and customers for their continued understanding and support and hope they can come along to enjoy using the newly refurbished swimming facilities."
