Hounslow's young athletes showcased their talents on Sunday 28 April by taking part in this year's Virgin Money Giving London Mini Marathon. The Virgin Money Giving Mini London Marathon is the official British Athletics 5km road championships for young athletes aged between 11 and 17.
This year's Virgin Money Giving London Marathon saw 1056 youngsters run the last 5km of the main marathon course. Runners finished in the Mall just ahead of the elite marathon runners.
Hounslow were represented by 30 young runners who achieved outstanding results.
The top performances on the day were from Charlotte Buckley in the Under 17 girls race, who ran an impressive time of 18.08 and finished 5th,closely followed by Morris Rock who ran the under 13 boys race in 18:20 finishing 25th, Declan Connolly and Aidan Aherne who ran 16:20 and 16:21 in the under 17 boys race, finishing 30th and 31st,and finally Katerina Simakova in the under 13 girls who ran 20:32 to finish 48th.
Huge congratulations to all the young runners that took part, all of whom received a marathon medal, goody bag and finishers t-shirt.
