Council introduction of Parking Controls from 11th November 2019

The council is to introduce car parking charges at Heston Pools & Fitness following the consultation undertaken in winter 2017.

These sites provide off-street parking to improve access for users and reduce parking congestion on the adjacent highways. The aim of this change is to reduce the number of non-leisure facility users using the car parks at the sites, and also to reduce the number of cars using the car parks in general. This will help ensure space is available for genuine users of the facilities as well as to reduce transport related pollution and promoting sustainable and active travel through encouraging more walking and cycling within the borough.

This proposal also has positive implications for a cleaner, greener borough as it should help support a shift away from private cars, leading to a reduction in pollution.

The relevant traffic order will now come into effect on Monday 11th November 2019 and should be enforceable from this date.

Charges will be via a cashless telephone payment parking system.
