Oxford City Council and Flexi-Solar (in partnership with Fusion Lifestyle) are installing a 48 bay Solar Car Port on the car park at Leys Pools and Leisure Centre.
The installation will provide 100,000 kWh of clean, green solar electricity in to the leisure centre each year, which is enough to power around 25 houses per year. It will significantly reduce the carbon footprint of the building and also provide shade for cars during the summer and protection from the rain in the winter.
The installation process will take about three weeks, and will run from Monday 29 April to Friday 17 May. The working hours of the site will be from 08:00 - 17:00 on weekdays. There are no planned works happening at the weekends or on Bank Holidays.
We arehoping to keep disruption to a minimum but customers should bear in mind thatduring the construction phase, approximately 25% of the car park will be closedoff as the work progresses and a one-way clockwise traffic management plan willbe in operation.
During the early stages of the installation process, Flexi-solar will be piling 24 steel posts to a depth of about 3.25m. It is estimated that the process will take three days to complete. During this time, there might be some noise disruption.
We apologise for any disruption the works may cause and will work to ensure that it is kept to a minimum. If you have any questions relating to the construction of the solar car port, please contact George Hall: firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 07713 100764.

Thankyou in advance for your patience during the works.
