Regular Monthly Walks
The Charnwood Round
In this programme we would like to introduce the Charnwood Round. This was an idea created by our own walk leader Alan Mortimore, who will also be leading the walks. The Charnwood Round will be split up into 6 separate walks. If you complete all 6 you will receive a certificate. Please wear sensible clothing and shoes for these walks. Car Park charges may apply. Most of these walks will be Linear, for the ones that aren´t transportation will be arranged to get participants back to their vehicles.
The Derbyshire Walk
Popular in last year´s programme, we are welcoming back our Derbyshire Walk; this walk includes a coach trip to the location provided by the Council. Then a lovely walk through Derbyshire which will be led by two of our walk leaders Alan Mortimore and John Mumford. Please wear sensible clothing and shoes. Meet at Loughborough Leisure Centre car park (LE11 3HE) on the 27th of April, at 8.15am, for a 8.30am departure - please make sure you book your place in advance. To book contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01509 63 2534. Please be aware if you would like to take part on this walk, the walk costs ?12.
Bus Pass walks with David
Leave your car at home with David´s Linear Bus Pass walks. These longer walks of 5 to 7 miles are designed to include a bus journey to get to the start of the walk or at the end to get home. Details of which bus to catch and at what time are provided in the walk description. These walks will take you all across Charnwood, and due to their linear routes will perhaps provide an opportunity to explore new footpaths or familiar paths in new ways.
Loughborough Ramblers are a friendly group of the Ramblers Association who enjoy walking, the interest and beauty offered by our countryside, and the friendship of like-minded people. We support the aims of the Ramblers Association to encourage others to walk and keep footpaths open and accessible. Each week we have two walks, a 4 to 6 mile walk in midweek and a longer 8 to 12 mile walk at the weekends. These walks are more challenging then Health Walks providing regular walkers the opportunity to try out new routes. Our walks are free but if you attend on a regular basis then you would be expected to join the Ramblers Association. For more details, talk to your Loughborough Ramblers walk leader during your walk or go to www.loughboroughramblers.org.uk
