Quayside Leisure Centre, in partnership with the Family Advice Support Team, will be launching an additional physical activity offer thanks to Active Devon.
As part of the Friday Youth Night, aimed at teens, there will now be the opportunity to participate in Bubble Football. This is a fun activity in which participants attempt to play a game of football while encased in giant inflatable globes. Additionally, the project will be offering a series of Parkour (free running) workshops in March and trampolining during the summer term.
The project's goal is to increase levels of physical activity in young people, many of whom do not see themselves as traditionally "sporty", in a safe, supported environment. Other activities on offer include the pool inflatable assault course, football, gym, racquet sports, swimming, table-tennis, and a range of instructor-led sessions such as dance, martial arts, Nerf and spinning.
Clare Bill, Fusion Lifestyle Strategic Development Manager for South Hams & West Devon said "We are thrilled to be able to add these new activities to the programme. The Youth Nights are a great resource for the young people of Kingsbridge, who can easily find small town and rural life frustrating. These sessions provide the chance to spend time with their friends, learn new skills and develop a healthy lifestyle for their futures."
Youth Night takes place every Friday from 7.30-9.30pm (for kids aged 13-19yrs) and cost £2.00 with a Fusion card and £2.50 a session without
