Youth Leisure Nights to start at Totnes Pavilion Leisure Centre on 28th September
The Youth Leisure Night will return to Totnes Pavilion Leisure Centre on Fridays from 7-9pm.
Designed for young people aged 11-17 years the project supports young people in making a healthy lifestyle shift and engage with sports and physical activity.
The first visit is free and thereafter the cost is just £2.50 a week.
Sessions will be supported by two qualified and experience Youth Workers from Youth Genesis and involve a wide range of different sports & physical activities that will be agreed through consultation with young people.
Delivery will be by qualified coaches, instructors and local sports clubs together with Youth Genesis workers.
The leisure centre staff will programme the sessions and work alongside the youth workers to lead on the activities to ensure that young people feel welcome in the space and gain confidence in using the leisure centre facilities outside the sessions and embrace lifelong healthy habits.

Clare Bill, Fusion Lifestyle Strategic Development Manager for South Hams & West Devon said "We are thrilled to reintroduce these great evenings for the young people of Totnes. This would not have been possible without the amazing backing of the local partners who have supported these sessions. We look forward to seeing these sessions enjoyed by the local young people and their community"
Cllr John Birch, Ward Member for Totnes, who supported the Youth Leisure Night relaunch, said: "I'm thrilled to see the return of the Youth Leisure Nights in Totnes; these sessions are a great resource for the young people of Totnes, who can easily find small town and rural life frustrating. These sessions will provide the chance to spend time with their friends, learn new skills and develop a healthy lifestyle for their futures. A big thanks is due to those who have contributed funds to make this possible and especially the Totnes Town Council and Tadpool "
