Stroke and Cardiac Rehab

Stroke Rehab

Tottenham Green Pools & Fitness (N15 4JA) (2 sessions per week)

The continued purpose of this initiative is to improve the health of residents and reduce the level of health inequalities by providing opportunities for our communities to participate in structured stroke sessions, which will benefit their health.

The Stroke Rehab programme is delivered through a series of specialist classes run by highly trained coaches who can demonstrate they have the correct level of qualifications to conduct activity sessions with people who have suffered from a Stroke.

Each referral will access the scheme for 12, preferably consecutive, weeks. Following a one to one initial assessment, during which they should complete a stroke assessment sheet, and have their blood pressure and weight recorded, the stroke trained instructor will explain the scheme in detail and mutually decide which the most appropriate class is for the specific individual.

Resident's participating in the programme will be given a progressive, personalised programme of activity which will consist of 2 led cardiac sessions per week and completion of the programme at 12 weeks; when their fitness level and mood will be re-assessed, and ongoing options discussed with them.
