After the Lionesses' won their first match against Haiti on Saturday 22nd July, we announced our first winners of the £500 prize - congratulations to BROCKWELL BULLETS.
Brockwell Bullets is an incredible team which supports the mental health and well-being of nearly 30 women. Playing in between Brockwell Park and Crystal Palace Sports Centre the team has grown in leaps and bounds from when it started four years ago, just a group of girls who had never played before and wanted to learn.
Well done Brockwell Bullets!

After the Lionesses' won their second match Denmark on Friday 28th July, we announced our second winners of the £500 prize - congratulations to DARTMOUTH SWIFTS.
Brockwell Bullets is an incredible girls team, first created by a father who wanted his daughter to play in a team that was kind, encouraging and inclusive. They haven't been going for long, but have bonded very well and get on great, with around 25+ girls turning u each week. The team is run entirely by volunteers too!

Third winners, let's go! - 01/08
England have done it again, smashed their third match and won which means another grassroots football team have won the £500 prize - congratulations to HERNE BAY RANGERS UNDER 13's.
Herne Bay Rangers are a bunch of fantastic resilient, hard-working girls who strive for success as a team. Girls' football has come on such a long way and these girls watch and support the England ladies aspiring to be like them each time they play. They are a lovely ground of friend and no matter what is thrown at them they go on smiling and cheering each other on.

Fourth win in a row! - 07/08
After an intense game against Nigeria, England came out on top on penalties and won. You know what that means...another win for grassroots football - congratulations to EAST FINCHLEY WOMENS FOOTBALL CLUB being the winners of the £500 prize.
East Finchley Women's Football Club is an FA accredited, not-for-profit, local grassroots club for women of all ages (16+), abilities and background. The club was founded almost 0 years ago by a group of mums from a local school who got together to train themselves and it's now grown to over 100 women. The club train four nights a week, 5-a-side, 7-a-sde and 11-a-side and have recently started a girls section. The club have also recently set up a hardship fun to support those that may not have the financial ability to pay membership fees.

Winner number 5 - 12/08
England won their fifth match of the competition against Columbia, meaning another grassroots football team have won the £500 prize - congratulation to GREAT BRADFORD LADIES TEAM
Great Bradford Ladies team play in Braintree, Essex. This team is all about being united and inclusive and ensuring women and girls are able to play football. It is important for them that everyone gets the opportunity to play, whether they are new to playing or they have played for year, they are welcome to the club and the team.

England have done it again, winner number six - 16/08
Congratulations England on their sixth win of the World Cup, through to the final now. And with that, we've another win for Grassroots football - congratulations to LEIGH LIONESSES FC
Leigh Lionesses are a new start up team for girls aged 6-11 in Leigh-on-Sea. The team was started at the end of the last season to fill a gap in the area as there were no dedicated girls' teams and the options were very limited, and so Leigh Lionesses are the first girl's football club in Leigh-on-Sean focused on inspiring young girls to play the game they love.
